Slices Pizza Pasta Restaurant

5 out of 5

·    When we got to invite to the MyEats magazine spring release party, we were a bit skeptical as they were offering FREE food and FREE drinks.
·    We expected soda and water from a Pizza place, but to our amazement, they had a stocked bar with premium drinks and different assortments of wine and beer!
·    The restaurant is described as a Rodizio-style pizza place with all-you-can-eat pasta and pizza at a fixed price ($15.95 ) or  *even better* ($8.95 for lunch)
·    They have happy hour from 4pm – 7pm every day, a large projector screen for games or fights and a cute outside area fixed with stools and couches.
·    We were not able to sample the pasta but the pizza was delicious! Thin slices, crispy crust and unique flavors. Our favorite was the “baked potato” pizza; potato cubes, cheese and bacon bits! Yum!
·    Slices Pizza Pasta Restaurant is perfect for after work or family dinners! The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is chill!! J

The Rusty Pelican

5 out of 5

·         The Rusty Pelican recently remodeled their entire building and we were so empressed by the décor and service
·         Thanks to the Miami Spice menu were sampled their specialty sandwiches and the best fish ceviche ever!!!
·         We were surprised to realize that a lot of attention is given to learning about the customers, how many visits we have had to the restaurant, if we enjoyed the food and will we come back.
·         The hostess and the waiter were equally knowledgeable about the menu and the food was excellent!
·         Must tries are the Grouper ceviche and the mango cheese cake!
·         Great Job Rusty Pelican!! We will definitely go back!

Eos Mediterranean Restaurant
http://www.viceroyhotelsandresorts.com/en/miami/dining_and_nightlife/Eos

1 out of 5

·         Eos is located at the Viceroy; a huge condo/hotel building in the heart of Brickell’s financial district
·         We went here for an event but had the opportunity to be a part of their Happy Hour but we were not impressed
·         Right off the bat, this restaurant is stunning!! Located on the 15th floor of the building, we were near the pool deck and had an amazing view of the city and the surrounding bay area!
·         Drinks were half off and they had a $5 food menu however, there was little effort given to the food preparation and taste. We ordered calamari which was super oily and stale as well as some “truffle potatoes” which we later realized were French fries dressed with parsely?! Not to mention that the food was served in *happy hour* microwavable containers…It was embarrassing!
·         We will give this restaurant another try as they had great service, great seating and an excellent view but we must admit that we are a bit weary; if they couldn’t get calamari right, how would their other menu items taste??

·         We looooove Mexican food!!!  And if you are looking for a step up from TacoBell, Pepper’s is for you!!
·         We have tried almost everything they have to offer and we have never been disappointed.
·         Their soft tacos are divine! If you like spicy sauces try their “crazy” sauce and wash it down with a beer; they have beers from all over Latin America – our type of place!
·         Peppers is perfect for happy hour, chill time or family time. We definitely recommend this place!!

Baru
http://www.barurbano.com/

3 out of 5

·         We were invited to a Car2Go event with free products and a brunch buffet! First we must say that the car to go idea is brilliant and we cannot wait to try and review it.
·         Baru is a small cozy restaurant located in the heart of Mary Brickell dining. It has indoor and outdoor seating with an outside bar area!
·         Baru specializes in Colombian food with a hint of American flavor!
·         We suggest trying their brunch for only $20 per person, with an omelet station, it is worth it! Also, their sangria pitchers for $15.
·         The setbacks for us was the service, they were a bit too in your face, nice though. It was difficult for them to find us a table and the food was not very impressive.
·         A must try is their coconut ceviche and their chicken guacamole – other than that, we will probably only go back for Happy Hour.

·         This is the place to be!!  Big shout out to Empress for finding this place during our quest for food! Singh's Caribbean Cuisine has it all!
·         Even if you are not into Caribbean food, they sell Chinese food and simple appetizers.
·         We went there on a Sunday afternoon and were blessed (yes, blessed) to be around for their drink special… $2 juice and vodka!
·         They had a music deck out back, fit with sun umbrellas, a bar, over a large pond with coy fish!
·         It was relaxing, the prices were reasonable, the staff were inviting and the music inside was club-like!
·         The only negative is that the food was not up to par
·         We were told that there is Reggae and Soca on Saturday nights; we will definitely be going back!

Grimpa Steak House

5 out of 5

·         Firstly, we must share that we have been waiting to go to Grimpa for yeeears now! And the wait was well worth it! Make sure to call to reserve a table before you go.
·         If you are not familiar with Grimpa, it is a Rodizio-style Brazilian restaurant meaning that the price of the experienced is fixed – in this case $49.99 per person – and waiters walk around with large meat samples, cutting them on your plate per your request.
·         The South American flavor was not missing in this restaurant, their food was unique and their meats were thoroughly seasoned!
·         We didn’t have an appetizer due to the buffet style entrees they offered. Salads, soups, rice and vegetables! Even sushi! All worth sampling!
·         We enjoyed the open atmosphere, the delicious mojitos and FREE Cachaca – a Brazilian rum mixed with sugar and lime! Amazing!
·         Needless to say, we were stuffed at the end of the night! We tried every steak they offered! Ones we didn’t sample were their lamb, duck, chicken and sausage.
·          The only negatives were the staff being a bit too pushy and the tip! Get ready to spend a hefty service tip!

Mayfair Hotel - Rooftop

5 out of 5

·We love hidden treasure places and the Mayfair is definitely one of those. Located at the back of Coconut Grove, this hotel was elegant and beautiful!
·Immediately we noticed that the layout of the hotel was like that of an apartment building or a cruise with outside corridors.
·We went on a Friday to an event on the roof which was coupled with happy hour.
·There were canopies, a DJ, a bar, TV’s, a fire place and a spectacular view! And did we mention everything was poolside?
·They had a champagne special for ladies between 6 – 7pm and the staff was very pleasant!!
·You have the option to rent a canopy which reminded us of the VIP section at a clubs or sit in their seating area. In our case, a canopy was rented and bottles of rum were brought out with water and cupcakes.
·We didn’t see any food, though we didn’t have the desire to look for any but hopefully they have (at least) an appetizer menu.
·This place is perfect for anyone! Couples, Girl’s night, Boy’s Night, Family night, it is just a wonderful place to just relax and have fun!

Cibo Wine Bar

·  Firstly, FREE pomtinis for ladies on this particular Thursday, so we were already in Heaven!!
·  The lighting was perfect for couples and people looking to mingle. It is a great happy hour spot and ideal for wine lovers.
·  There was an area for a DJ and a back room for private events.
·  The food was not amazing, it lacked flavor but we could tell it was made with fresh ingredients.
·  We had an appetizer, a cocktail, two entrees and dessert; totaling $53 – you cannot beat that!
·  The service was excellent! We would definitely go back for drinks and entertainment - we love the vibe and of course the area!
