Speechless! That’s how we reacted to the torment that Kesha endured in the last episode of Basketball wives! The scene between her and Tami was very difficult to watch, especially for anyone who’s been through any situation like that, where they felt bullied and helpless. We are not only watching grown *ass* women, we are watching mothers, entrepreneurs and supposedly respected role models. As much as we tried to understand where Tami was coming from we could not understand her justification to hijack Kesha’s purse, rampage through her back and go through her phone? The worst part of it all was to see Evelyn and Shaunie pretend to care! Evelyn crying?? Puuuh-lease!!! THEN to see Susie act fake by wanted to help Kesha get her purse back?? Extremely difficult to watch! Kesha did exactly what she was suppose to do… tell the authorities to try to get her property back and leave hell island! Just because you know where your property is doesn’t make taking it right, not does it mean that it is not a crime to take someone’s property. We use to respect Tami a lot, but to act like that over a disagreement then pretend that you took Kesha’s purse to “save” it from being left at the restaurant was disgraceful. Since the airing of the worst Basketball Wives episode in history! Tami has since made a public apology to Kesha and to her family and “REAL” friends! At the same time, in a positive spin, Kesha is taking her experience to shed light on the issues and effects of bullying! Good for you Kesha and for the record, we are behind this cause 1001%!This morning we were a bit shocked to find out that Tami has deactivated her Twitter due to constant harassment from angry fans. Really? The bullier can’t take the bulling?? Tanya Young from (episode 1&2) of Basketball Wives LA wrote a nice piece on the show. She points out that she shot Basketball Wives LA for MONTHS *who knew?* “ including wonderful footage of my involvement with the domestic-violence hotline, an event at my home, a charity event for another cast member, and “normal” dining outings with the women. Yet I was only shown in two episodes”…very interesting: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/05/10/basketball-wives-tanya-young-reveals-the-show-s-dirtiest-secret.html
The petition is now at 28k signatures and growing, getting over 3,000 in just one week! Sponsors are pulling their Ads and bloggers are outraged at the show’s portrayal of women of color! As usual, we will continue to watch curious to see how the season will end ….
